Thanks for Helping to Make This a Great Event!

 

We are creating an exciting event for our entire Beethoven community to have some fun and to raise money for our kid's school. This event will only be a sucess if we achieve two things: 1) we raise a bunch of money and 2) we all have some FUN!

 

A silent auction is an event where the entire community arranges donations of goods and services, and the people that attend the event come and bid on these items. The item goes to the highest bidder, and the money raised goes to the Friends of Beethoven general fund - to help pay for stuff that the school district does not pay for - like field trips for our kids, various supplies, and the extras that make Beethoven Elementary a very special school. OUR PARENTS (that's you) arrange for the donations (more below).

Okay I get it. How Can I help?

 

Every parent at the school needs to find items to donate for the auction. Here is a list of just a few ideas. Think about what YOU would buy or do for yourself, your family, or your spouse. They can be small things like gift certificates to Blockbuster or the movies. They can be big things like a vacation timeshare or a new transmission for your car! Start at home - is there something you can re-gift (as long as its a new item)? What talent do you have that you can share with someone? Can you give Spanish lessons, or computer lessons, or cooking lessons, or babysitting? How about friends and family? Who do you know that has something of value? Grandparents have time shares! Where do you shop? Most businesses want to donate items to increase the traffic to their store. Hundreds of local families will see these items and will shop at stores that support our school - it's true! The ideas are endless.

 

Here's the concept - find something to donate - add the details to the list on this linked page. Organizer volunteers will do the follow up with you. SO get out there and GET STARTED! There will be a prize for the person who's item gets the biggest donation!

If you have requested an item from a vendor but don't have it yet, place it on this Requested Donations page. You should check this page before you approach a vendor to be sure that we haven't already asked a vendor to donate

 

The Event Details

 

  • Date: Saturday, June 7, 2008
  • Time: 6:00 to 9:30 PM - (Setup all day starting at 8am)
  • Place: Odd Fellows and Rebekah Hall 406 E Grand Ave, El Segundo CA 90245
  • Cost: Only $25 per person - includeds fantastic Hawaiian Buffet, one drink, one bingo card.
  • Event: Dinner buffet, first drink included, cash bar (beer, wine and a speical drink available)
  • Activity: The Silent Auction of course, music, and bingo, Bingo BINGO!!
  • Who's Invited: This will be an adults only event. ALL parents are welcomed, as well as friends, neighbors, family. Just leave the kids at home with a sitter so we can all unwind and have FUN! Why not arrange a sleepover with another family - and share in the cost of a babysitter?
